Every year, hundreds of conscious, courageous business leaders who care about education in South Africa join the award-winning leadership development and principal support programme, Partners for Possibility (PfP).

During the 12-month partnership with a principal from an under-resourced school, both participants take part in several cutting-edge, immersive leadership development experiences and then set about improving specific issues that they have identified at their school. The partnership is expertly supported and facilitated by a professional coach.

Multiple surveys carried out have found that business leaders experience very high levels of satisfaction through participating in the programme, which is underwritten by the University of the Western Cape. Many report that PfP presents an opportunity to grow as leader, creates a platform to make a difference and give back and enables business leader participants to gain insights into the education sector.

“I have learned more about myself, my leadership style and the power of hope at PfP than I did while studying an MBA,” says one leader.

“We have so much to learn from innovative school principals about managing in complexity and having hope for the future. It is truly a life changing opportunity,” said another.

PfP has grown in stature and reputation since its inception in 2010, with the programme recently announced as one of six winners of the prestigious World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) Award for its innovative solution to a pressing educational challenge.

To date, the programme has positively impacted over 850 schools across South Africa, including the Western Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and Northern Cape

PfP is always recruiting more leaders to participate in the programme and reach more schools across South Africa. Participation is open to mid- to high level leaders and managers and entrepreneurs.
