C-suite executives In Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban are being called on to participate in the 2023 edition of Execs Back to School hosted by Citizen Leader Lab and proudly sponsored by investment holding company Sphere Holdings. Coinciding with Mandela Month celebrations, this one-of-a-kind event will take place on 27 July 2023.
CEO of Citizen Leader Lab , Komala Pillay, said: ‘’It is well acknowledged that every business requires talented human capital to successfully deliver maximum shareholder value. But this pool of talent can only be created when all our youth are able to access a quality education. Today’s youth are tomorrow’s workforce, and business is reliant on that workforce to be well-educated.
We’re challenging C-suite executives to be part of this Execs Back to School experience that promises to not only stimulate new thinking, but explore the pivotal role of business in education, and how these two sectors can chart the way forward together to create #TheFutureWeWant for education and our country.”
Execs Back to School is an unmissable experience for C-suite executives who are keen to understand the public education space and the challenges created by the socio-economic realities in under-resourced communities. The annual event specifically aims to create awareness within the business community of the available opportunities to empower schools and school principals with the skills, knowledge and support they need to lead change in their schools and build supportive, active school communities. The event also advocates for deeper levels of cross-sectoral collaboration and skills sharing in addressing some of South Africa’s most critical issues.
In this year’s edition, participating executives will meet at a decided central location where they will be introduced to the day’s programme. Accompanied by a Citizen Leader Lab team member, small groups of participants will then be driven to selected schools to engage with the school principal and other members of the school community. The event will end with the participants returning to the central location for a meal and feedback session.
