Job Profile: Citizen Leader Lab, Regional Manager Gauteng & Inland (Gauteng based)

Citizen Leader Lab NPC is a non-profit organisation that develops conscious leadership to build social cohesion, uplift communities and work towards achieving a just society. The organisation’s focus is mobilising active citizenship to drive positive change in education, primarily through its flagship programme, Partners for Possibility (PfP). The Regional manager role is critical to the success of the organisation and the preferred candidate will form part of the Leadership Team.

Purpose of the Role:

The Regional manager’s chief responsibility is to lead Operations in the region. The Regional manager is expected to lead the regional team to launch the required programmes of the organisation throughout the year (Launch Plan) as developed and agreed with the Leadership Team. Implementation of the Partners for Possibility programme will be the main focus, however the Regional Manager is also expected to implement School Leadership Forum, Community in Possibility and School in Community, and other new programmes that are developed for this region. .

Job requirements:

This is a full time role. The main responsibilities are to:

  • Lead the Gauteng team including admin staff, recruiters, fundraisers, Learning Process Facilitators and other programme implementers
  • Lead the full operational and process requirements in the relevant provinces, including managing the operations budget for the team. Supervisory coaching for implementers e.g. Learning Process Facilitators is excluded
  • Lead the administrative process and events coordination in the provinces;
  • Be accountable for delivery of events in the provinces
  • Mobilise the required number of PfP partnerships and cohorts (aka circles) in accordance with the Launch Plan
  • Plan PfP circles and all aspects of circle management and processes in this area
  • Support the Finance team by ensuring invoices are issued timeously and follow up on late invoices as required
  • Work closely with the Business Development team to ensure a funding pipeline that supports the Launch Plan
  • Support fundraising efforts by managing a selected list of long-term supporters and by actively engaging new funders as per the Business Development plan
  • Work closely with Marketing & Comms to ensure a consolidated Marketing & Sales plan that meets the needs of the region
  • Work closely with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning and the LPF supervisors to ensure high quality and high fidelity of implementation of Citizen Leadership programmes, in particular, Partners for Possibility
  • Engage and interact with senior stakeholders in business, government and civil society
  • Develop and continuously improve the relationship with the Department of Education in the relevant provinces
  • Implement new programmes in partnership with relevant experts within the team
  • Attend relevant networking events and contribute to awareness of the Partners for Possibility programme and the organisation that delivers it i.e. Citizen Leader Lab

Qualifications and experience:

  • A qualification in Operational management will be an advantage
  • At least five years’ experience in Operational management (social impact sector experience may be considered)
  • At least five years of management experience
  • Experience working in a development or third-sector organisation or on social impact initiatives would be an advantage
  • Fluent in English, ability to speak additional languages would be a benefit
