PfP to celebrate 1,000 partnerships milestone

Eight years ago, the courageous pioneers of the Partners for Possibility programme set their sights on improving education outcomes in South Africa and committed to the ambitious goal of reaching 2,000 schools by 2022.

In 2019, Partners for Possibility will celebrate the launch of 1,000 partnerships – a milestone that, to us, demonstrates that the PfP movement is gathering momentum!

The month of May will see partnering organisations, schools, conscious leaders and other PfP stakeholders gather in Johannesburg and Cape Town to celebrate the programme’s remarkable expansion from just one school in 2010 to 1,000 schools in 2019.

Every year, we have celebrated a significant milestone in the programme’s evolution and shared powerful stories of transformational leadership growth through presentations by principals and partners who have journeyed together as Partners for Possibility. In keeping with last year’s unique, interactive format, this year’s attendees are invited to actively participate in the small group conversions that will be guided by experienced facilitators.

The Johannesburg leg of the celebration will feature a keynote address by Associate Professor of International Business and Strategy at Wits Business School, Dr Mzukisi Qobo. Professor Thuli Madonsela will be the keynote speaker at the Cape Town event.

We hope you will join us for an evening of reflection, celebration and sharing of thoughts and ideas about leadership development - in both education and business.

We are immensely proud of our achievement in reaching 1,000 schools and delighted that we have begun to see some systemic responses to PfP ‘impulses’. However, with around 19,000 under-resourced schools in South Africa, there is still much work to be done.

Imagine for a moment that all South Africans believed that it was their fundamental duty to ensure that every one of our children receives a high-quality education – and if we all worked together to make it happen!
